Weaknesses & Improvement
crucial to be aware where you require some improvements, if you have programmed only in Haskell and the position available consists of some Object Oriented languages like Java then it is most significant that you prepare by reading up and start teaching yourself – inform the interviewer and make a point of it. This will signify that you are already a conscientious person who is trying to improve their skill base outside of working hours. Many companies will then take give you more training especially when they can see a genuine willingness to challenge yourself and learn new things.

Relevant Experiences
If you are straight out of university with very little or not much practical working experience of applying your knowledge in the workplace then, enhance your experiences such as team projects and any support you provided to other students as well as your ability to project manage your final year. Chances are if you have got to interview stage that the company is looking for someone with little experience but lots of fresh innovative ideas. Have faith in yourself! If you don’t then who else will?

Read Up On The Programme In Question
Read the job specification carefully and do not apply if you have no experience of the programme in question. If you have a wealth of experience coding in PHP but have not much .NET knowledge and in the position available .NET programming will feature heavily in the job role, then do yourself a favour and at least know basic constructs and standard object libraries for .NET.

Tests in Interview
It has been a standard practice to examine an IT applicant to see your ability firsthand and test your reactions under pressure. The test itself will tell your prospective employer a lot about you personally especially if you haven’t achieved what you should have for your experience level, as the saying goes, fail to prepare then prepare to fail.

IT Environment
Have a question prepared about the usual working structure you may be working in, ask about the seating arrangements, do they practice extreme programming, brainstorming or other activities and ask if they have strategies to relieve stress! Questions like this depict that you are properly thinking about the conditions of this particular work place.
