The Best Ways To Find Cheap Perfume

By: Shauna Moline

If you like to wear the latest perfumes manufactured by celebrities, designers, and cosmetic companies, you know that enveloping yourself in designer scents can be expensive. Many perfumes can cost hundreds of dollars for one ounce and buying additional products can run you into huge dollar figures. But designer perfume doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. If you know the right places to shop, you can find expensive perfume cheap.

First lesson, avoid the department stores. In case you somehow missed this news flash, the department stores will cost more 99.9% of the time. Why? Because they have to mark it up more to make profit. Instead, try a perfume outlet.

Most of your malls have a perfume outlet inside, but on the off chance they don't, you'll have to drive out to an outlet mall and look for one there. Trust me, the drive will be worth it! Perfume is much cheaper in a perfume outlet, and though they don't always have the accessories provided by other stores (powders, lotions, body washes, etc.), it's still a good bargain.

Most people avoid perfume outlets because they're scared of getting a knock off. A knock off perfume will smell just like its counterpart, but it has a higher alcohol content so it the perfume doesn't last as long, on your wrist or in the bottle. If you're curious, try a bit on and see if it lasts for a while. If it's faded by the time you're done shopping, it might not be the real deal.

A second option is discount stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or Ross. These stores sell last year's hottest fashions and scents, so they're not as expensive as a traditional department store. Beware though, they usually don't hide their bottles behind a glass door, so make sure you get a full bottle.

The advent of eBay has drawn millions to its auctions. Among those millions are thousands of people hoping to get rid of their unwanted perfumes or make a buck on their wholesale perfumes. All this competition means lower prices for you and more savings in your pocket. Definitely a good thing.

Just remember this - You shouldn't ever have to pay department store prices for name-brand perfume. All it takes is a little know how to find the best perfumes at the best prices.

The easiest way I've found so far is the discount perfume store. It's a store with tons of designer perfumes all in one place, all with low shipping, and best of all, discounted prices (up to 80%). Example - I found a Bvlgari perfume at a popular department store for $130 and then I found that same perfume at a discount perfume store for $53. That's a difference of nearly $100!
