Play Station 3 - the Smart Device

Sony Play Station 3 or better yet known as PS3 is the successor to the famous Play Station 2. It weighs about 11 lbs. and measures 12.8 inches wide, 3.86 inches high and 10.98 inches long. You can distinguish the Play Station 3 from predecessor by just looking at it. PS3 is way bigger than Play Station 2 or even the Nintendo Wii or the Xbox 360 of Microsoft. Just like the aforementioned consoles, the PS3 can be laid vertically or horizontally.

The PS3 has a prominent look and classy design. The Play Station 3 comes in 2 versions. On the other hand, the second version does not have Wi-Fi capability and also the media card slots. It has a 20GB hard disk. However, both versions provide a Blu-ray slot drive, gigabit networking, HDMI-output, 4 USB 2.0 ports and a built-in Bluetooth 2.0 support.

The PS3 has the most impressive CPU which they call the Cell processor. This powerful multicore was developed by Sony, IBM and Toshiba. Other Functions of PS3

The Play Station 3 can also handle multimedia file playback such as music, photos and videos. It supports files such as JPEG, MP3, MPEG-4 and AAC. The PS3 Network is also a free service. You can check if your friends are online and chat with them with the use of the video, voice text or ask them to join you in playing multiplayer games. Play Station 3 is indeed a smart device and is superior to other game consoles making it popular amongst game fanatics, parents and kids.
