Length of the necklace is one of the vital factors that have to be considered while buying it from a shop. The costume that you wear should enhance the beauty of the necklace worn. Different age group of women prefers necklaces with different lengths. There are distinct categories of necklaces like adjustable necklaces, short necklaces, longer necklaces etc.

How to select length of necklace?

*Collar Length
When the length of the necklace is 12 or 13 inches, it is said to be as collar necklace. The collars can be made by 3 or more strands on the middle portion of the neck. If you choose this length, you may wear long gown with “V” shape neck or boat neck. This collar will perfectly suit for all sleeveless costumes.

*Choker
If you choose a necklace with the length as 14 to 16 inches, it is said to be as Choker. It is classic model of necklace and it has single strands. This type of necklaces will suit for costumes like fancy wear and even for casuals. There is no need to be strict about the neckline. If you want to choose a necklace for your child, this type will match her perfectly.

*Princess
It is the widely popular type of necklace length with 17 to 19 inches. You can wear this necklace when you put high and close fitting round neck lines. These necklaces will be hung downwards around the neck. This type is perfect for wearing pendants.

*Matinee
These necklaces have more than the length of choker. The length of this necklace is about 20 to 24 inches. When you wear formals, you can prefer this type of necklaces.

*Opera
This length is considered as a queen of all the neck lengths. It has a single strand with a length of 28 to 34 inches. If you wish, you can double it. Most of the women in UK prefer this type of necklace.

*Lariat
It has an extraordinary length up to 45 inches. It looks too sexy and stylish. You can wear these necklaces with suitable bracelet and earrings combinations.
