Multi-currency Bingo Broo-ha-ha

By: James Blunterific

What do you called fifteen French women crammed into an online bingo room? I don't know the answer,

but more than a few Britons have had their delicate feathers ruffled lately by the encroachment of

French-speaking players on their favourite bingo sites. With

multi-currency bingo
the new norm offering on most gaming sites, and operators reaching out to

emerging markets among the world, a mini-cultural clash of sorts is rearing its head in bingo sites

around the nation.

UK is by far the leader in the business of online Bingo, especially since the recent crackdown of

US-hosted sites last year. In both scenarios, it was never disputed that English was the mother-tongue

for all matters bingo-belted, regardless of whether it was multi-currency bingo or not. But now, with

players able to play in their native Euros and international players able to fund their accounts in US

greenbacks, the chat scene has taken on a distinctly multi-cultural flavour.

A recent heated exchange between a couple of Dubai-based player and a Leeds-area player grew

downright nasty when the former refused to speak English in the room. The players eventually

withdrew after a racial tirade was pitched at him. The CM was eventually broke the fight up and

suspended the UK players account.

An employee from the site, one of many offering multi-currency bingo, offered comment on the

condition of anonymity. We have a very strict policy against racism or intimidation of any kind, but in

fairness, those Dubai guys were real pricks, and should have been banned too.

Bingo market analyst Craig Munro weighed in on the matter, I dont think theres much of an issue in

these multi-currency bingo sites. What youre hearing about is really isolated incidents. He went on to

add that the community is for the most part women in their thirties and forties who enjoy the

international flavour. Its not like we have an issue of Bingo-hooliganism. The community is

overwhelmingly positive, so dont let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. He added that many of women

have fantasies about bedding international men, and the international clientele add bingos romantic

mystique.
