The smell of brewed coffee can really stimulate the senses. But people will feel the effects more after sipping since this is when the effects of coffee truly kick in.

What are exactly the effects of coffee? Studies have shown this can boost the person's alertness, improve concentration and performance. In the body, this means an increase in the heart rate, blood pressure and basal metabolic rate. It will also help relax muscle tension and promote urine production. It is because of this that a lot of us have coffee while studying for an exam, to help waking up in the morning or while working during night shifts.

Caffeine is the main ingredient in coffee. According to research, it is safe to drink one or two cups every day. However, those who exceed this may endure the negative effects that include difficulty sleeping, headaches, irregular heartbeat, muscle tension and nausea. This may also lead to ulcer or heartburn, which is why specialists also recommend persons to drink moderately.

Coffee isn't good for women who are pregnant or patients who have heart disease and they should not consume it since it may cause birth defects and other health problems.

But persons who consume coffee may also feel the same effects by consuming substances that contain caffeine. For example, chocolate, sodas or tea.

Coffee may not make the individual do something foolish which is normally associated with the use of alcohol or illegal substances. But it may form a habit. People who drink coffee regularly and suddenly stop may experience what is known as withdrawal effects that will disappear after a few days when they are able to once again drink a cup of coffee.

It appears that certain diseases have been prevented by coffee. Java for instance works as an anti-depressant, now that is definitely what we can call good effects of coffee. Others are known to lessen the chances of developing Parkinson's disease in men even if doctors aren't sure yet of what is the cause of this disease.

Coffee is being consumed in almost every household. It can be purchased from the store or brewed at home or in the office. The effects of coffee has on people may differ with another depending on how well the body is able to react to the caffeine so when the person feels this is enough, it is time to stop rather than feeling the negative effects of consuming too much.
