Establishing a business

By: Robert07 Adelman07

Effect of branding, corporate identity, patent and intellectual property

Solid ideas, hard work and strong willpower are requisite to establish a business. In addition, a good knowledge is necessity. Without proper understanding and knowledge of basic business concepts, branding, government grants, international patent; it is impossible to do well in a business. However, one should not ignore the impact of ‘new product design’ and ‘research & development’ to ensure a strong footing in the industry. If the product is unique and will come in benefits of the society, than government grants can be attained. The government will be happy to offer grants if it feels that the product will do well to the society or the nation.

It should be remembered that without a user friendly product, no company can achieve success. And to ensure a good product, the company has to hire effective and creative industrial designers. After that, a company should establish a research & development department to complement the industrial designers. Working together, they have to create, develop and produce a product that will catch eyes of the target market. Once the product is developed, it is wise to apply for patent rights. A patent right ensures that no other company can produce the same product.

The government allows companies to attain patent rights to secure the investment and to appreciate the intellectual property. By definition, intellectual property is an officially authorized ground that refers to any creative work or inventions; which should be a property of the initial thinker or producer.

The law permits the thinker or producer to use the work or invention alone; meaning no one else has the rights to use or reproduce it. Moreover, intellectual property laws offer exclusive rights to the initial thinker or producer.

After getting the patent and intellectual property rights, the company can market the product. Before launching the product, it is better to secure a trademark. Trademark of the product or the company can be of distinctive symbols, pictures or even words.

A trademark which is represented by the symbol ™ is an idiosyncratic sign or pointer to spot exclusively the source of its origin and / or to distinguish it from other entities.

After launching the product, right marketing strategies should be undertaken to ensure higher sales. The strategies should be customer focused and easy to implement.

The more a company reaches out to its customers with its marketing strategies, the more the sales. Initially, the company has to focus on the product itself, good customer service and a reasonable price range. After the product gets going, emphasize should be given on distribution channel, corporate identity and branding.

To do well in the long run, corporate identity and branding are essential. These two points ensure a consistent growth of the company and its products. Branding is not only about getting the target market’s attention but also about creating a flavor, which will ensure the feel that the company is the only solution to the customer’s needs and wants. Branding ensures that customers will think of the company at first when they are searching similar products.

If the marketing strategies are implemented properly, the product is bound to do well.
