Credit Score Improvement Techniques

By: Kimberly Nathan

Fair credit is quite a common case nowadays. Still there are a lot of consumers with fair credit thinking that it is not an easy matter to find a beneficial credit card for them. The reason for that opinion is quite evident. Fair credit seems to have average status: you are not able to get cards for people with good credit score because you don't have enough credit score and bad card deals are not the best option as they offer high interest rate. One more disadvantage of fair credit is that any late payment or denial can make your credit bad again and as you know it is difficult to increase your score.

It's of great importance to decide if you are ready to improve your credit score or your credit rating is enough for you. A large number of consumers having average credit are satisfied with it and are not planning to increase it any more. In spite of some problems, you can find a good credit card for fair history, even the one with rewards or low interest rates. Other people can take pains to obtain good credit rating and be eligible for best credit offers with attractive perks some time later.

If you ready to do something to improve your credit score here are some tips for you to take into consideration. You can try only some of them or use all them in practice.

• Get rid of any inaccuracies and errors damaging your credit report. For that you can simply write a letter to the credit bureaus asking them to remove the errors proving that by documentation. You will have to collect the history of your payments, the dates of closing and opening of the accounts and your account numbers. Some people improve their credit to 50-100 points using this method.

• It is also possible to apply for 1 or 2 cards with a sufficient credit limit and use no more than 30% of the available credit limit. You credit score will rise a bit.

• You can also ask somebody with better credit to have a joint account or make you an unauthorized user. But be extremely careful with that not to damage your and other person's credit.

So, stick to the above mentioned pieces of advice and raise your credit. Follow the rules of good credit customer: make on time payments, make more than minimum payments and stay within the credit limit. If you choose them you are sure to gain excellent credit history.
