AIT-2 Tapes (50-130 GB)

AIT-2 was released in 1999 with a doubled capacity over AIT-1 tapes (up to 50 GB) and also double the transfer rate at 6 MB/s. AIT-2 was the first in the family of AIT tapes to come with WORM technology which is useful for archiving related tasks. http://www.tape4backup.com/ A Turbo variant was also introduced for AIT-2 tapes with 80 GB capacity and a transfer rate of 12 MB/s. The Turbo variant for AIT-2 also introduced the R-MIC (Remote – Memory in Cassette) chip that keeps relevant information about the tape but doesn’t require any physical contact to be read. This is very useful as it speeds access to files and data. We offer AIT-2 tapes by HP and Sony.
