There is something more important than website traffic: customers, i.e., converting traffic into customers or sales. This is how you can tell if the people value what you are offering. Without these vital steps your online business will never get off the ground. So you should offer in a compelling way. Here are 3 ways to increase your conversion rate.
First, you can place a countdown timer on your website. This has the effect of a current, up-to-date website, helping the site visitor to feel in real-time. It also lets that person know to make a decision. It s kind of like when you go to a bricks-and-mortar store: most of them close at some point. Customers do need to make a decision. A countdown timer gets their attention from the beginning.
Second, a browser warning bar is known to increase conversions. This has a similar effect to the countdown timer. Since this is primarily a newer marketing technique, site visitors notice a flashy bar, typically where warnings pop up in your browser.
Third, a before you go exit pop-up window will no doubt get the attention of site visitors. This can be a nicely done pop-up window that just lets you know what the offer is and why you should check it out, or at least make sure you don t want to. This is the equivalent of leaving a physical store and seeing advertisements or coupons on the way out. Haven t you changed your mind about a product when you found out there was a bonus product included or a limited time discount? It works online as well.
Some marketers say this instills fear into site visitors. I think it is better to say it makes visitors more aware of their choices, and that your website isn’t for tire-kickers. Finally, these three tactics combined seem to be extremely effective, giving some websites opt-in rates upwards of 50%. This is almost unheard of and worth trying.
